Re: Pre-Start Concerns... Gen 5 sat dormant for 3+ years
No sir, I ran the ground from the battery to the frame. I do have a ground strap going from the frame to the head though... I bet that's one of the problems. All grounds are from the GenV harness are attached to the block or head.

I suppose that would work provided it's all heavy enough gauge. Factory runs directly to the head, then down to the frame.

Re: Pre-Start Concerns... Gen 5 sat dormant for 3+ years
I had the connectors installed backwards on the injector rails. Mitch from Swaptime was gracious enough to text back and forth til the problem was solved a few days ago. As soon as it fired I knew what my next project would be... stop the giant exhaust leak. In order to do that I needed to relocate the oxygen sensor bung on the header. It was pointing directly at the trans cooler lines and the 2 couldn't occupy the same space. I drilled a hole where it wouldn't have any clearance issues and welded in a new bung, then just plugged the old bung with the proper size bolt.
Once I got the header installed I started it up again. This time I heard some not so good sounds. Almost like it sounds when a starter motor is catching on the flywheel, but not exactly consistent with the rpm. Even though I have only run the engine a total of less than 5 minutes, this is a newly developed sound. I was thinking perhaps it is a problem with the torque converter bolts... the factory says to replace them and not to reuse, well I put the used ones back in anyways. Do y'all think that is absolutely mandatory?
