Trans cover??????

My cab has a high hump tran. cover.
will a low hump (the FLAT looking one) fit in there and bolt holes line up.??
There is plenty of room for my motor and Trans. to fit.
Is that high hump for a 4 wheel drive Trans.?????
My Cab is a 4B cab, I think that is a 1-1/2 ton cab?
Thanks

Re: Trans cover??????

High hump was to clear the 4 speed if it has the hole in it for the shifter.

I'm not understanding the 4 B thing, can you explain on that?

Chevy or GMC?

The flat trans cover should bolt right in though.

Re: Trans cover??????

I Can't find it right now but I ran accrose it before.
I THINK ?
On the vin. tag
2B is a 1/2 ton
3B is a 1 ton
4B is a 1-1/2 ton
I THINK all the cabs are the same but it was just the tag on the truck that was different?
Edit---- I found some info HERE

Re: Trans cover??????

as mr48 stated the high hump is for the 4 speed granny tranny
if you still have the motor in stock location a car 3 or 4 speed will fit with low cover
any modification will be hit or miss, truk has 700r4, i had to slightly modify the low cover

Re: Trans cover??????

I have a custom frame and plenty of room under there.
I just wanted to know if it would bolt up to the original holes.

Thanks for the info, and I ordered the low hump (flat one).

Re: Trans cover??????

Yes, the flat will bolt up to the same holes. I removed mine with the hump and installed the flat. The new flat was fiberglass and not steel. Not sure a steel is offered.

I found both when looking for a replacement and opted for steel...

Re: Trans cover??????

My truck HAD the flat cover. I have a 4l85e behind my LQ4 and it wouldn't fit unless I put the humped trans cover on it.
