WTB: Seat track spring (for 68 but I am sure other years same)

I am actually looking for TWO different springs for the seat track adjust. These are both missing from my truck.
Aside from used, if anyone knows who might reproduce, please let me know.

Thanks,

Kevin

1) Seat track spring AND retainer. In the photo, the small spring and the retainer (with the hole) that attaches to the rod that goes over to pass. side track release. Noting there is one of these springs/retainers on both driver and passenger side of seat tracks.

2) Seat Track Lever spring (See POST#6, for photo of spring) - Spring that attaches to seat track lever.

Did you ever find the parts needed? #1 The retainer & spring, I found some on eBay. I also have a 68 seat & tracks. I can go out and look at the spring, that your referring to, for #2. Not sure exactly what your needing for that. But here are some pics of the 68 seat that I have.

Thanks for the reply, I have not found the springs yet.
For #2, the spring (again, not shown in my photo) attaches to the seat release lever itself. I do have the large spring shown in your first photo, but there is another spring on the lever (that broke on mine).
I'll grab a photo of the broken spring and add to this post shortly...

Thanks,

Kevin

I went out and looked at mine, there is no other spring. There’s the springs & retainers, those are on both tracks. Then the large spring. The only other thing, is the wire, that goes from one track to the other. I’ll go out and look again to make sure.

Photos of the spring (#2) that I'm looking for. In the photos you sent (post#5, first photo), notice the HOLE in the seat lever, ...that is where one end of the spring attaches.

I 'borrowed' the spring (shown in this photo) from my '68 50th. BOTH trucks had this spring.

Photo of the broken spring (hard to see, but broken on right side of spring coil, I just placed the two pieces next to each other for photo)

I have never seen that spring on these year of track before. Not sure what the purpose would be, because the handle lever works off the spring with the retainer. Not that I have had a lot of these tracks, but I’ll do some research on this.
It does look like the spring used on the 77-80 tracks. These are 6 1/2”.

Re: WTB: Seat track spring (for 68 but I am sure other years same)

Thanks again for the reply.
The length of the spring is a bout 6 1/2" (as you noted).
Even though it was on both my trucks (noting both UNrestored originals), it seems like I may be fine without it.
on the other spring (seat track spring and retainer), did you mention you might have an extra of those?

Thanks again,

Kevin

If you would need the entire bar, spring and retainer
http://www.keypartsonline.com/67-72-...d-retainer-rh/
I’m looking for the 6 1/2” Spring. If I find it, I’ll post a link. I have some of those, but I would need them for my tracks. I restore seats, so I have supplies or I’m always looking for supplies.

I saw you're other link (Key Parts), but the Classics item will do.

...I didn't realize you redid seats, I overlooked that 'detail'

If I do come across the 6 1/2" spring, I'll let you know.

Thanks again!

Kevin

Found these also. I know a lot of the GM seats used some of the same springs. I wonder if you called them, if they could tell you what the dimensions are on those springs?

...been meaning to follow up on these.
When I went to the website I saw they note these springs were also used on 67-69 Camaros. Since I'm heavy into the Camaros and have a loose bucket seat, I checked.
I will add photos, but the net is neither of these springs matches the seat lever spring I'm looking for. Ironically, the one I'm looking for has a diameter in the middle of the two OER springs, and is shorter by 2-3".

Looks like my SMS seat fabric has shipped, so I'll be pulling the seat from the truck soon. When I do, I'll snap photos of all the springs side by side for comparison...

I know when I got mine, it was on EBay. They were correct. Maybe do a search, probably still people that sell them. Also, check the 67-72 parts forum. I’m pretty sure there is someone over there that sells seat parts.
