Rear light/signal questions.

I think have the bigger plugged figure out for my tail lights and signals. What is this smaller plug for?Is it a ground? Also I'm going to be putting in a signal switch that just mounts to the steering column. Will I still be able to keep this flasher if use one of them signal switches that mount to the column?IMG_20200726_124903.jpgIMG_20200726_124521.jpg

Re: Rear light/signal questions.

I think that single wire plug goes to the fuel gauge.

Re: Rear light/signal questions.

That smaller wire could be for reverse lights. Why not use a factory turn signal switch?

Re: Rear light/signal questions.

On the original rear harness of my truck, the smaller connector was for the license plate light.

I don't know if there ever was tank back there.May be an auxiliary tank could have been added. The truck does have a utility bed on it.But this looks like the factory plug.

I'm not for sure what direction I'm going with the column yet.I may add power steering later on and if I do I'm going to upgrade to a later c10 column with a collapsible shaft. From what I have read on here the switch and cancelling cam on the 60-66 c10 is a problem area.

I didn't even think about that I will have to check it out.I thought it could have been a ground because the test light seamed brighter when I grounded that plug to the frame.
