Dont misunderstand me as I love to play the devil's advocate....but, these trucks came with new weatherstrip when made and I doubt it took a brute swing to close them. My trucks have new weatherstrip and they are well adjusted and close easily. (I spent a day doing each truck and it was a bear) But, 34k is a down payment on a house, 34k is a new Silverado, 34k is a college education. What other classic vehicles sell for 34k and have they been heavily altered like this one? Another question is; have you shopped around or was this more of an emotional response to their advertising? Does the price include sales tax? Tax on 34 grand could be huge...If you're not a rich man, then you need to be as savy as possible.

Looking at the pictures I see some things I would have to see for my self. One it looks like some rust through on the floor board in the one under carrage picture. Also something looks od about the rockers. If you look at the overall attention to detail the truck is lacking. The welding for the rear end and the c notch look like stick weld. I never like to see that much weld on a rear end housing. It tends to bend the housing. For that money I would pass. I aslo will never buy anything I have not put my eyes and hands on.

I don’t see a disc/drum prop valve is used.
Just a drum/drum distribution block.

Unless there’s an adjustable valve in the rear line
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to drive it. I saw it at a warehouse where it was boxed in. My offer was contingent upon a successful test drive. Without it, would the drums be getting all the force. Yikes, if so!

It seems pretty nice. I think if it were built by a member here, it would either look like that and be 25K, or it would have a lot of the details ironed out and be really worth 34K.

No matter what the vehicle, auction house deals probably wont hold up to a message board dedicated to it. The Value isnt quite there. Again, doesn't seem too bad though. I like it.

All really good points and I appreciate the insight. This one happens to check a lot of boxes for me (PS, disk brakes, OD trans for highway use, A/C, 8 cyl, clean interior) and I really like the look (and sound). I haven’t come across many other options sub-$40k. Here in AZ, the home of Barrett Jackson, there are a lot of wealthy retirees that love classics, so demand is high. Little rust here too. It’s A LOT of money for a toy though. I could pay in cash and avoid sales tax so there’s one bonus, I suppose.

Good point. Thanks! I did see and touch it but am an amateur with these things at best. I really appreciate all the advice, insight and general banter! This is fun stuff!

The more I look the more I see, went on that website and went for a virtual ride along the speedometer didn’t work, took a better look at the underside saw the rust and old undercoting more bad wiring sum one brought up the bead lower on drivers side it probably is do to the C notch only a novice would pay that kind of money if he got anything over 20 grab it and run

Ouch. Good info. I’m not going to bid. You saved this novice! It’s already at $30.7k. Streetside preciously had it on consignment listed at $37k.

He did say he’d connect the speedo before selling.

I'm glad we were helpful. It was not my intention to dissuade you from buying a nice truck. I personally just wanted to give you a chance to reflect before spending that much dough. This was a big deal and I too enjoyed the thread.

That is not what I would call a professionally built truck. I see a lot that I don't like and it certainly is not worth even $30K IMO.

Very much appreciated. It’s easy to let the emotions cloud judgement when it comes to something with such cool factor. The hunt goes on!

Isn't that the stock 60 rear end though? I think the notch is cut deeper than necessary, it appears from the pictures the pumpkin is already touching the bed floor or extremely close. That might be an illusion though.

Don't take that as me dogpiling on the truck, just an observation. I hope it goes for their asking price, as I already own one of these trucks I see no reason not to hope the resale continues to climb.

I am no expert by any means and I know that anyone can find "something" wrong with how someone has done something.... but with that said, I honestly would not get this at anything over 25k, heck maybe not even above 22k, just me.
You did the best thing you could and ask on here though. You can get some with personal preference on questions like this, but I know that alot of those who commented on here have built some beautiful rides that would bury this truck honestly, and so they know what they are talking about. Basically it comes down to what are you willing to pay and what they are willing to sell it for. Building these trucks is not cheap! So, if i was you, get an idea of what you want, complete stock or not so much, high performance or cruiser, stock suspension or not, color, interior, wheels, lowered or not ..... and so, get your idea of what you want, understand what you want will have a price, and go find that truck. I know it seems easy to say all this, but honestly you must be happy with what you spend your hard earned $$ on, so be patient and find that "one". Good luck!!!!

Good advice, thanks. It's slim pickins out there for something clean, updated and ready to go. This is another local option (previous gen) in the same price range (high), but I think the patina look will get boring quickly. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/c...201573486.html

That one has a clipped front end. Shallow lip on the front wheels means it's most likely a 2nd GEN f-body clip. Not bad. But only as good as the install/installer.

No offense but I just can’t see more than 15 grand in a truck that needs a paint job LOL I guess I’m not big on shiny patina If it had a Mustang two front suspension everything else done underneath real nice LS drive train and that’s what you were looking for It could be worth maybe 30k but with run of the mill 350 and not even an overdrive transmission there is no attention to detail who knows maybe I’m out of touch

No offense taken, not my truck and I won't even consider at the asking price. Good points.

If you want a look a like truck there’s this one in Victoria.
Only about 16 grand in US bucks.
If you can get it across the border.

That’s half price compared to the one in Arizona granted the interiors not not as nice some of the gaps are a little spacious but it does have an updated engine I don’t see A/C unless it’s a bondo bucket I think it’s a better deal and you can use your savings to make it what you want

It ended up selling for $31.1k to a last minute bidder (not me!). Seems like he got all the money and then some for it.

So many times cars/trucks "sell" on ebay and then they are relisted...wonder if this sale will really go through?

I wonder too. The buyer has a high reputation rating, so it seems more likely.
