vent window interchange

Now working installing my door vents and windows. Do9es anyone know if all vent windows frames are the same from 73-86. When I try to install my vent window frames there seems to be an issue on a little bracket right below the vent handle side that spreads the door apart. I could cut this bracket off but before I do I was wondering if I have the wrong vent windows as I did have the wrong regulators and motors. Also my door glass has a black square painted on it . It looks factory anyone ever seen this before. I can scrape it off . See pictures.

Re: vent window interchange

The vent windows are NOT the the same from 73-87. Not sure when the change was. Probably late 70’s

Re: vent window interchange

that window looks like its from a 89-91 suburban with the power mirror option.
theres at least two vent window styles. the 88-91 are one piece gasket, the 87-older are 2 piece gasket. I'm not sure if the 73-76 are different but possibly.

Re: vent window interchange

will they interchange? I assume the black out is for the power mirror. I bought this truck in boxes and know for a fact I got a whole lot of parts from a suburban. The PO told me that and said all would interchange and HE WAS WRONG. LOL that's part of the fun. Found another challenge today. The door glass rear window channel guids that go in the door up against the door lock have me stumped at this point ,was thinking incorrect also as I cant figure any way they bolt on. But Classic shows 73-91 to be the same. there are in great condition. The fun continues

Re: vent window interchange

73-80 is one style, 81-87 there is a 2 piece seal version. 85 and up there is also a version with a 1 piece seal.

I honestly don't know if they are interchangeable for the pre 81 and81 up models or not. I don't remember the dor change exactly, I think it was around 77. With that being the case, I would think you could use either style in any year. LMC sells a complete set that is advertised for all years
