1971 K10 lsx motor mount help

Hey fellas I need some advice, I have a 1971 k10 half ton that is equipped with a sbc350 th400 transmission and NP205.. i plan to keep all the drivetrain the same except for the sbc350. I plan on putting in a 5.3 motor and I was looking for advice on which motor mounts/perches fit best. Thanks in advance fellas

I will move this to ls swaps, you’re likely to get more responses there.

Re: 1971 K10 lsx motor mount help

What you'll need is a set of adapters that locate the rear of the LS in the same spot as the sbc..
I used Ebay adapters on mine....worked perfectly...
Mine look like pic down below

but I see alot of people using the slider style..like dirty dingo

Cool, and then you just used your oem mounts and oem pedestals? Is your truck a k10?

Re: 1971 K10 lsx motor mount help

mines a C30..but its the same...plates bolt to LS engine, sbc side bolts to plate...stock engine mounts...dropped right in, you could put the long bolts in with 2 fingers..
the slider style will give you a little room for error, so you might want to look into those..
heres a slider mount

Re: 1971 K10 lsx motor mount help

You need an ls swap crossmember for the 67-72 4x4 trucks.
This is just one of several options

Re: 1971 K10 lsx motor mount help

Yes sir, the pan doesn’t clear. I’ve read some people have had luck actually using the $50ish 55-59 v8 swap crossmember. I think I’m going to try that when I do my 6.0. It’s a hell of a lot cheaper.

Re: 1971 K10 lsx motor mount help

I used the engine crossmember but I got mine from Jegs-someone here posted a link before. It worked for me. The only thing I noticed is that my engine seems to sit a little higher then the other crossmember kits. I have clearance every where but it is close to the fire wall but does not hit.
