1964 Heater control repair parts

My son and I are working on his newly acquired 1964 C10. The defroster and fan control arms are broken. I looked for a used one....they seem to go fast here in the classifieds....and units on ebay are out of my desired price range. This is going to be my sons first truck and we are on a total budget. I saw this on Classic Parts and wanted to see if anyone had any feedback regarding them. Good/bad? I don't want to spend the money on something that isn't worth getting....its 4 weeks of allowance for him! Thanks for looking!

I have used this kit and it worked well for me. Fairly easy install.

I used this on my 65, It is the way to go. Just make sure the cables all move freely and it will work great.

I have no experience with them, but I do recommend to make sure your cables move easily. When the cables freeze up, the arms become the weak point that breaks
