My 14 Bolt is Shot What will Swap in Place ?

I have a 1984 C20 Chevy. I bought the truck back in May and I have just gottten it on the road and there is a gear humm in the rear end Iknow it's shot and I dont want to spend the money on new gears. I was wondering what diffirentials will bolt in place ? Will a 14 blt from a 73 - 91 fit ? Also a Posi would be nice too. Were the factory ones any good ? and would they be a clutch style like what's in my 12 bolt? Thanks for any help. I know this is not a 1/2 ton but I need a big truck for work and I have a 67 on a 72 frame that I am working on for my play truck.

Thanks Again.

Mario

i think so

there is a full floater and a semi floater 14 bolt but they should both fit in as long as they arent 1 ton the 1 ton spring perches are in closer i think. im not sure about factory lockers but from what i have read the gov lock is junk if your hot rodding it.

just get another 14 bolt, they seem to be everywhere. and i agree, stay away from the Gov-Lock, they dont use clutch packs but a governor that will make both wheels spin.
