LS harness and AAW harness questions
I have a BP stand alone reworked factory harness for my 5.3 swap ... also installing a new AAW classic update in my 67 c10 ... I pretty much get the stand alone , and the AAW ... my questions come when I get to the engine part of the AAW .... first off the (2000) 5.3 harness controls the alternator correct ? ... so nothing from the AAW will connect to the engine or harness charging wise ? ... basically only the purple starter wire from the main AAW ? ... second , how should I run power to the AAW fuse box ? ... the AAW instructions have it going thru starter ... can I come out of the fuse box , into mega fuse , then to battery since the BP harness handles everything else ? ... I’m confused on how to wire the AAW harness power separate of the BP stand alone ... and it be safe and not burn the thing up

Re: LS harness and AAW harness questions
This isn't intended to be a snarky comment, but I thing those would be really good questions to ask the folks at AAW.

Re: LS harness and AAW harness questions
Ecm controls the alt..
Yes aaw connects to the LS harness with switch on 12v power.. You'll also need constant 12v to BP harness I ran aaw fuse block power and constant 12v thru a junction block from battery.. Ran alt wire to this junction block as well.. I have the battery to starter wire independent.. I used the junction block to eliminate multiple wires at the starter..

I’m using the AAW coil wire for 12v ignition to the LS harness like most do Does your junction box have any fuses ? I need 12v constant for my PCM and my fan relays ... so I was going to wire that straight to battery + ... but the power to the AAW harness is where I was lost .... So run battery positive to a junction box ... then from there power the PCM , fans and AAW harness ... correct ? ... only question is does the junction box need to be fused to protect the AAW harness ? Re: LS harness and AAW harness questions
What I called the junction block is actually the big fuse block..
I ran hot from battery to starter..from starter to fuse block.i ran alt wire to same terminal .I ran everything else from the other side of the fuse..aaw fuse block, fans ,constant 12v for LS ecm

Re: LS harness and AAW harness questions
This is the wiring diagram I got from AAW and a picture of it in my truck with the fan and head light relays above it instead of going to starter I went directly to the battery I used a 4 wire alternator controlled by ecm I also used a new BP harness hope this helps

Re: LS harness and AAW harness questions
I used both one just for alternator because it’s 140 amp. the fuse panel, fans, head lights on the other one and any thing else I’d want to add that way I only had the one battery cable going to the starter

Re: LS harness and AAW harness questions
I didn't use AAW I used Painless. I run the charge wire from the starter stud to the alternator stud. At least 8 gauge. Then from the starter stud to the maxi fuse 10 gauge wire. The maxi fuse is the main power lead to the fuse box. Fan 12 volt I run off the alternator stud with a relay. Fuel pump power should come from the LS harness.
