Deluxe seat vs standard seat

Hey guys, I found a 66 gmc custom with the deluxe seat still in it. Is there anything different in the springs and framework between the standard & deluxe seats? I’d like to replace the standard seat in my 65 with something a little more cushy.

Yes, there is a difference. The deluxe seats have thicker foam than the standard seats, thus the spring layout to support the foam is also different

Here's a good picture of the comparison: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...78&postcount=2

Re: Deluxe seat vs standard seat

I found a standard bench out of a 63 and just added extra thicker foam and got my cush like the deluxe, Only issue I did not account for was now I sit higher and further forward. The slide brackets under the bench may not be as tall on the standard. But if you found another truck buy the whole donor.

Here is another thread about the custom seat cushion and some pictures of how the springs are different.
