How do you to convert a 67-72 fuel sender to work for 60-66
I recently purchased aftermarket gauges for my 1964 C10.
The fuel gauge is set up for a 90 OHM sender. The 60-66 sender is 30 ohms. I know that the 67-72 sender is 90 OHMS, and look very similiar, but the sender installs differently. Has anyone modded a 67-72 unit to work in a 60-66 tank? |

Of course, the alternative is to get the two senders side by side, and look at the angles of the sender flange, and the line differences. Easy to mod the in cab line to mate to the later sender if needed. Third option is to get a later sender and just take the pot/float arm and use it on the early assembly.

The senders install differently.
The 60-66 uses a 5 screw flange, the 67-72 flange twists into the tank. |

Could you swap out the pivot point for the float? That might be the easiest way if it's doable

I put a 47 ohm resistor between the post to the guage wire and ground. Works good.

You can get a nice universal sender from Tanks Inc. You have to do a bIt of measuring and a little cutting but they work fine if you follow the directions.
