Front valance additions
I've seen trucks before that have the plastic front valences below drafted over to 67-72's. I got the front fenders and grill in my truck. As soon as I get my bumper brackets put on i'll hang the bumper on and try to buy one of these valences. My dad has a 87 4x4 and it looks like the valence on it is wider than the one on this 2wd. I'd like to get the widest one possible so it'll be closer to the ground and give my truck that sealed off look against the road. Also, where the 2 fog lights are at is about where I want to put my 2 cold air induction vents. Ramairbox.com has kits where you put ducts in your vehicle and run air hoses up to a special air cleaner housing. I think this will be a neat and different air cleaner set up.
The pic was posted by someone on the board, nice lookin truck, I had to steal it Well, the pic is too big to upload, i'll have to put it in after I get it on my server

If this is gonna be a daily driver, that may be too low (if your truck is lowered it will be). If you suck up water in there (deep puddles) you'll end up with busted pistons.

Its not gonna be a daily driver. It'll be at a level close to that of a corvette. I've been in thousands of those cars and driven them everywhere. They will scrape the ground but never seen one busted off. I've thought about the water issue. The air duct is gonna have about a 3.5ft. elevation change going to the carb. The valance is gonna be rear of the bumper which will help cover it up. Also, water is pretty heavy, to push it all the way up that air tube you'd have to be runnin around 70-80mph I think. Also my tires are gonna so wide that high speed in the rain isn't gonna be possible. If it starts being that big of a problem, i'll just get a 14" air cleaner and switch tops so it'll suck air out of the engine bay like any other air cleaner. If you see this truck runnin in a huge rain storm, call the cops, this b*tch is stolen!

Man, I'm glad you liked it. I climbed under my dad's 87 tonight and looked at how it was mounted. I can probably rig some type of brackets off the frame and front bumper mounts to bolt this thing to. I think i'm gonna order one at the GM garage tomorrow.

ill get soe pics when i get my fender back on, i think you should get a 88-98 one, mine went on perfectly and even lines up where its going to straight under the fenders. if you want to wait a day or two ill take a pic of the side ive got a feder still on and then you can decide weither you want a 87 type or a 88-98 (mine come off a 95-6 but its identical to the one on the 89, so im guessing there all the same for that body style) now to just fix some kind of air duct or tow hooks or somethign in those holes
