Now that's a smart looking set up! I love pictures, describes everything perfect! This is the look I will emulate, thanks for posting., I'm not much of a welder, my Lincoln MP140 makes me look good sometimes, I wonder if I can weld a tank like that. May take some practice first lol.

Well, my welding is pretty bad and I had this done by a pro. I used KBS Gas Tank Sealer after all of the mods even though the tank was new to cover any bare metal from welding and any possible pin holes (I put a light bulb in the tank and did not see any). I also put a brace inside the tank's internal tray just as a precaution to prevent the new top from bowing down. I don't know why the pic is upside down - even rotated it before import and its still upside down. That's the sender next to it.

Edit: I re-did the filler tube to work in my application also.

that's a good idea too, I guess I need more training in the thinking department. I flew for a living and picked up mechanical training from engineers and mechanics who worked on the helicopters. There's lots of ideas from those things, just expensive to bring to fruition.

I used a 71 mustang tank. Had to widen the frame rails (Zip disc) and will be filled from the bed. My wife's 67 Chevelle had the rear fill, I called it her baby because every time i gave it a drink it would spit up on me.

Yeah I had a 67 Chevelle with the filler in behind the rear license plate, didn't like it, and I think having it in the bed is impracticable for me. I like the idea of a door on the side, even better than the small cap some people have installed. Again, I guess I'll have to practice my welding!

Don't overlook factory k10 or blazer tank stone guards to provide protection. Low riders especially. Not funny to see a gas trail.
