Flatland Pre-Runner ??
To start with I've got an '86 C/10 Silverado W/ the heavy duty brake set-up on the front(larger caliper/rotor) and the heavy leafs in the rear, I believe this is part of a towing upgrade package?
What's the compatabilty of C/10 to C/15 as far as trailing arms and what-not? Because........... Rancho only offers a 1 1/2" spring/spacer kit for 73-87 2WD C/10's, but has a 4" kit for C/15 2WD's including bolt on lower cage,spindles,springs,brake hoses, and U-bolts/blocks for rear. I know about Fabtech's 3" basic spring/spacer kit, but I fear this will just eat ball joints. Can the C/15 parts kit from Rancho be fitted to the C/10 ?? Hmmmm......... |

I work on trucks of this sort quite frequently & cannot think of any difference between the c10 chevy & the c15 gmc susp.. does the 4" kit include spindles to gain the extra 2 1/2 "?

most likely it doesnt include a spindle, the last time i looked there was not a spindle offered for pre 87 trucks. i will have to look at the rancho kit.
shadow, first off welcome to the board, secondly where are you from? what are you plans for your truck? are you just going for look or do you plan on any off roading or what? |

If you check out the PDF application files at Rancho it merely states a complete "kit" number. The description of the kit in the suspension section states that the "kit" doesn't come with urethane bushings. I'll shoot'em an E-mail and try to find out.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm here in Wichita, Kansas, not exactly an off-roding mecca. But there are a lot of big 4x4 trucks around(how strange). I am currently repairing the vehicle from a fairly minor fender bender, and like the pre-runner look, also no one has really done much of it around here yet. I do get out to the boondocks occasionally and wouldn't mind my vehicle being more suited for such. Besides, if I have a big gnarly looking truck maybe morons wouldn't pull out in front of it!!! |

if you want the prerunner look you might look at fiberglass fenders, you can run 35"s with no lift. they make fronts, and also an update kit to the mid to late 90s fenders, hood, and grille.... last i heard they were going to make flared bedsides as well.

Uhhhhhh..... my mistake, after reading the fine print on Rancho's app. guide that 4" kit is for 88-94"s it does however include spindles tho'.
So... any one have anything bad to say about the Fabtech 3" basic kit??????? |

I have heard you can have use the 88+ spindles with some minor machining work.. there is a guy around here with a k5 running the fabtech lift, and there is also a k5 on the first link i posted that runs it as well. i think for what you want it would be good, but i find lifts for our trucks are too expensive for the amount of lift they provide, but i guess that is the price you pay.

Rancho's app. guide shows
front springs # RS6500 rear kit # RS60612 (blocks) It also shows these part numbers for 2wd trucks from 1963 to 1987 |
