Trying to help a friend put power steering on a 65 K-20—-googled it got nothing but c-10 stuff and not finding anything here…am I just looking in the wrong place, surely it’s been done before…..

MT65, I think it's going to depend on the engine type. My 66 K-10 has a 292. I looked into power steering, and it looks like my best chance is going to be the mounting bracket that is custom made and sold by a fellow on eBay. If it's a v8 I think you are going to have more options.

Planned on Capt Fabs bracket, small block chevy so pump and brackets are easy..which box to use and pitman arm are the big questions, or am I just overthinking it🤔🤔🤔

On my 64 C10

I used cpt fab power gearbox bracket, a cardone 27752 gearbox fot 80-96 C10 I believe and a pitman arm I had left over from a 86 C10.

I got the gearbox mainly for the fitting sizes, they match my ls power steering pump so I could use factory lines on it.

Will the truck being a 4x4 require the use of a later year K10 gear?

I have zero personal experience with K10s, so I don't know if the gearboxes are different or not

Not sure at the moment, with the part numbers that just got posted, I think it will work great, found some stuff in the FAQ segment last night, and with all the information, it’s getting easier, at least in my mind. Maybe have to make a few parts, but thats what this hobby is all about…

Thanks for the information, I never worry about fittings as I get adapters and make it all #6jic, go to the local hydraulics shop and get my lines built….

Was going to have mine made as well, but decided I wanted to be able to get a new line from any auto parts store if I ever needed one. Was able to use lines from the same model truck my gearbox came out of.
