Anyone running Torq Thrust 17x7 front and 17x8 rear?

I’ve decided on buying a set of VN309 TT O for my ‘66 short fleet. I’ll be doing a 3/4 drop and it already has discs up front.

I can’t decide on 17x8 all around or use 17x7’s in the front? The 17x7’s only have a 4” BS and the 17x8’s have 4.5” BS.

A couple of my truck junkie friends are telling me to use the 7’s up front but I’m not convinced.

Is anyone running this setup? I sure cannot find any pics. online or any other posts concerning my question. Please post pics. if you have this setup!

Thanks!

I have VN615's with 16X7's up front with a 4" backspace and 17X8 in the rear.

This is a common deal but only works well when you can match tire width/heights appropriately (which can get harder to do when the wheel diameters get larger).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Will you need two spares if you offset sizes?

Not if the OD of the tires are the same

Or.... Treat the situation like a newer cars (late 70's - a few years ago) set-up that utilizes a 'TEMP' spare to get you to your next destination. One wheel/tire used as a temp gets it done until the situation can be corrected. Something close enough/between the different sizes will get the job done.
