48 door weather stripping
The early model doors have the single lock on the riders side. When installing the weather strip that glues to the door, do you put the lock in first or what?
All I could think to do was put the lock in with the lock plate in place and then glue the weather strip to the door, but not put any glue on the lock plate, just in case I have to pull it for any reason. Looking for some advice on this. Thanks.

Re: 48 door weather stripping
That would be the best way to do it. That way you don't have to pull the weather stripping back to put the lock retainer in and then re-glue it.

Re: 48 door weather stripping
Thanks Mr48. As it turns out, the new door handle won't fit into the Altman latch and I have to take the latch out to work on it, which means I have to remove the outside door lock. So I'll report how this works.

Re: 48 door weather stripping
Well, luckily with a little Dremel tool the outside latch went into the door and Altman latch without having to take the door luck out. So I still don't know how the seal would work with the latch the way I did it.
