Well, I'll say it's super cool. Obviously would never happen today. But, if it did, I bet they'd sell a whole LOT of them.

Re: Found this old Rifle to share

someone say rifle? well, you flushed me out

we had a pretty good discussion going in this older thread To Get A 30-30 Rifle by buying a Truck

seems like Eric had one for sale since I've known him.. I passed but I have seen others on gunbroker..

here's one now for $1899.99

Winchester 94ae Chevy Branded Outdoorsman .30-30 Winchester w/ Tasco Scope

this one sold recently for $2525.00 - 28 bids

Winchester 94AE XTR .30-30 Chevy Outdoorsman In Box! Chevrolet Model 94

the medallions are even listed right now for $25 - 8 available.. might buy a couple just for the heck of it

Winchester Model 94 Butt Stock Medallion Chevy Outdoorsman Chevrolet

Man that truck and rifle combo I bet would be worth a mint right now if someone kept that package together all these years. Very cool.

I bought a 1973 Chevy Cheyene brand new and if had a Rifle to go along with it ,,I know I would of took the deal.. I would of kept the Rifle for sure ,, but my truck lost all 4 fender corners ,,and it wasnt even salty highway and I lept it clean ,,them corners were traps for dirt . So i never would had a package of truck and Gun .

Re: Found this old Rifle to share

I'm offended by this. Please remove!

I'm only offended that back in '85, when I was in the 10th grade, I didn't beg my dad for one....the truck & the rifle! And I only want it removed so I won't have to look at what I missed out on back in my glorious teen years.

Don't take the first part seriously.......just being sarcastic.

Re: Found this old Rifle to share

Winchester did a similar promo with the Dodge W-150 half tons. With Dodge it was called the Marksman package, not the Outdoorsman.

interesting, never seen the 1984 Dodge Winchester but looks very similar..

from just a brief browse, doesn't look like they fetch near the same price as the Chevy tho

sold last year for $748

well, I read the description and these are actual new surplus medallions from the old New Haven Winchester plant that's long gone

This listing is for One Winchester model 94 stock medallion as seen in the photos. These are in unused condition and came out of the New Haven plant when it closed down. They are 1.5” in diameter and 1/8” thick.

no idea what I'll do with them but bought a few anyways, maybe garage art or decoration for a safe or toolbox..

either way, be a fun little mystery item for my descendants

Re: Found this old Rifle to share

Combine the 70s and the 80s by drilling a hole under the first O in outdoorsman and threading a chain through there and hanging it around your neck. I'll bet there were more than a few 1985 truck buyers that were still rocking a medallion, haha.

Re: Found this old Rifle to share

Rather than drilling a hole through a cool old medallion like that, visit your local jewelry store or coin dealer and see if either one can find a round bezel that you can mount the medallion in. THEN, do the neck chain or maybe even a key chain for your square body pickem-up. Would be a cool item for either.

Sure can't imagine either Dodge or Chevrolet doing a promotion like that in today's world for sure.

Cool, show us what you get done with it. I will say that I'm still kind of partial to the medallion idea though. You could even go and buy yourself a tuft of Hasbro chest hair to complete the look, haha.

I have several of the OEM NOS Outdoorsman Decal kits in the original boxes. Ill probably never have a use for them but couldnt stand to see them go in the dumpster.

That was some good marketing back then. I'm betting we won't see that again.

Re: Found this old Rifle to share

Alot of people don't realize it but there was a fishing package you could get as well. Also in later years there was a promotion with a Poulan chainsaw. We had those lime green saws floating around our dealership for years.

Re: Found this old Rifle to share

the medallions look to be about 1.5"

perfect key chain fob or tool box / gun safe decoration with a magnet on the back

only commemoritive gun I have is a 1970 Winchester Lone Star

not something I would normally buy but I saved it from police destruction

out of curiosity, I'll have to dig it out to see if the medallion is the same size

I googled the address and it is no more than 6-7 miles from me .. it looks like a residential house for this business.I got a few things on my burner right now ,, but soon as I can I might just take a drive and stop in and see whatsup.
