Clutch help
I am getting really confused on what if anything I need to do on my c10, I had a 350 with an nv3500 converted hydraulic clutch done by someone else, I am in the process of swapping out the nv3500 for a t56 and lq4 my question is can I use every thing from the nv3500 master or do I need to get new parts for the t56, I think all I need is a different fitting please advise thanks.
Info Nv3500 2wd from obs 1500 GMC T56 from 2002 trans am 1971 c10 3ott

Re: Clutch help
The clutch doesn't care what transmission is installed as long as the TO bearing can do the same thing as before.

Re: Clutch help
If you can get an adapter fitting for the T56 slave (T.O. bearing) to connect to the NV3500 MC but IDK if the stroke/volume of the NV3500 MC is enough or too much for the T56 slave
IIRC the input shaft for the T56 is 26 spline McLeod offers MC for several applications so that might be a source. They use Wilwood compact MC and make the adapter for several applications Your donor T56 will have a slave/TO that goes over the input shaft. A few sizes so you need to get the right one and then measure your clutch stack height and add shims if needed to get the correct gap between clutch PP diaphragm, and TO bearing Ideally someone who has done a T56 swap can give specific part #'s |

Re: Clutch help
That was another question what is the accurate gap needed or is just mock it tell it works kind of thing. All help is appreciated thanks I have searched tell my eye have bleed still don't have a good answer, I have the og t56 tob just not sure if I need to order a new slave and line or reuse the current setup from the nv3500.
Thanks all for any and all guidance, the builds I have seen all go from auto to manual or manual with old clutch set up, have found none that have progress like mine and don't really want to spend 200$ if I don't have to.. Thanks again
