Re: wiring gauges advice
The cab ground strap in the pic is probably big enough to do the trick. Personally I tend to overkill on things so I would run a larger one or possibly 2 like that one. If you add up all the stuff that runs on electricity in the cab, figure out the current draw for each, add them up and see the total you could then check a wire gauge chart to see what size wire is needed for that much draw. If your battery is in the stock location on the firewall it would be pretty easy to simply make a cab ground right at the battery.

Re: wiring gauges advice
Ground points are worth the effort to get right. My dome light and a rear window mounted 3rd brake light are the only points in the truck where I rely on ground to body or frame. Everywhere else there is a copper ground wire that runs to the ground point as well as bare metal under the ground point. Dialectric grease on all grounds and a bit of paint onto the assembled ground hardware if it is outside the cab.
I don't want to be that guy whose taillights go out when he hits high beam or whose lights get dimmer when the brakes go on ! I also solder every crimped connection and cover with heat shrink. |

Re: wiring gauges advice
That's a sweet win and a big deal! Congrats on the first start. I hope to get my build there in the next few weeks. A little more work to do yet routing wires.
