Help Me Find This Truck

My son and I built this truck during his junior/senior year in high school. We sold it before he shipped out to the Navy and I would like to locate it and possibly buy it back.

I sold it to a guy in Arkansas but have not been able to reach him.
1985 Silverado. Blue. Tracked it down to Neosho, MO where it has been serviced at an Audi Dealership in Kansas City.

If someone knows how I could locate it, I'd appreciate some advice. I've never tried to locate a vehicle before.

thank you in advance.

Re: Help Me Find This Truck

Pretty simple process for the first time I tried this.
A member here messaged me and told me about a MO C10 Facebook page.
I joined it.
About an hour after I posted, I had several folks telling me they knew the owner.
One gentleman contacted the owner and he passed on my info.
We message back and forth, told him my story.
We agreed on a price and the uhaul is reserved.
Pickup on Wednesday.

The rest of the story:
Memory came up on the FB page and wife sent it to me saying how it was such a cool truck and we should have never let it go. How my son and I did all the work ourselves and that meant a lot.
So she said "I wonder how hard it would be to find it?"
I said "go for it!"
She officially started looking on 23 Jan and tracked it down to Neosho, MO.
19 days total.
I sold it to a guy in Arkansas and he sold it to the guy in MO.

Re: Help Me Find This Truck

Happy (and quick) ending, great to see. Looks like it was well taken care of. I just concluded a several years search for a car my dad restored when I was a kid, that he sold 20 years ago. Unfortunately it ended when I determined through DMV records that the car got scrapped 5 years ago, don't know why. Always nice to see when these searches work out!

Re: Help Me Find This Truck

Glad you found it. I built an 81 very similar in 84-85, sold in late 90s and recently saw for sale a few hours away.
That seller was telling me this big story of the “build” etc, (i guess his sales pitch) until i told him I build it, and when. He said it wasn’t the truck I built, etc. so to prove it to him, i opened the hood and showed him my name stenciled in the frame by the driver’s control arm, that a buddy helping me had done.

Re: Help Me Find This Truck

After a 16 hr trip, the truck is back home with me.

Previous owner made some changes, added a tonneau and installed a new exhaust system. Some things are good, some things I'm going to bring back to my liking but overall, I'm super happy to have this truck back. So many stories like mine don't end up like this so I am very fortunate.

Does your son know what's going on & that you got it back?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Yes,
we video chatted with him when I got home. He was blown away. First thing he said was "I can't believe you found her!". Second thing he said was "we are never selling her again!". haha
