DIY 3 point seat belts. UPDATED!

Here's a link to my seat belt DIY. The improved way of installing the shoulder anchor bolt is sooooo much easier! Here are a few teaser pics.

I hope this motivates you to install some seat belts for safety!!

Re: DIY 3 point seat belts. UPDATED!

Your timing is perfect. Yesterday I was ready to install my newly recovered seat but couldn't find the belts...or any holes in the floor. You know the rest. I found your original thread and since my truck is painted and almost complete there is no way I am welding anything. I thought about riveting in a back plate but it that would be a pain. I also thought it should be able to stay in place once tightened. Thanks for confirming.

Great idea with the epoxy and great that you thought enough about it to update your original DIY. Many thanks.

The DIY is a mix of my 1963 and 1965 cab pics. I left my tank in when I did the shoulder belts and it was a real pain on the driver’s side.

I bought mine from SeatbeltPlanet dot com.

My 65 has the retractors. My 63 has non-retracting belts. Depends what you prefer. If you are just doing lap belts, cheaper options are available through Amazon and eBay.

Non-retractable belts can later get add-on retractors that take away slack, but they do not have the ability to sense inertia like normal retractable belt systems.

I eant the retractable. I have lap belts but don't use them. No way they make a difference. I'll be eating the wheel regardless but 3 point would be good.
