If you are going to be running high horsepower they are probably a good idea if you don't have ūton arms (they are already reinforced). They probably won't make that much difference just for occasional towing.

I seperated mine because of some rust, then welded the top and bottom seams completely shut, I wouldn't go put them on unless you were hauling something insanely heavy.
