It seems that it is getting more complicated. The speedometer is not working now and it was working in the past. I don't know everything is in its right place.

It can be tricky to center the geared piece inside the transfer case and within the nut. Once these are aligned and in place it can take a few tries to seat the speedometer cable in the transfer case. The cable can get pushed into the cable casing and not be seated in the transfer case.
