Stock transmission, 3 on the tree... can anyone tell me if it's a Muncie or a Saginaw?

Re: Help identifying my transmission...
Base on this old thread.
https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...=216510&page=2 It's probably a Muncie. Member "Shifty" on post #31 has some of the same numbers. Post #41 shows where to find the model number. Post #56, "Shifty" finds has has a 1971 Muncie 3 speed M20. |

Re: Help identifying my transmission...
The muncie reverse lever is in the extention housing, and the cover has 7 bolts. The Saginaw reverse shift lever is on the cover, and the cover has 7 bolts. The Borg Warner has a 9 bolt cover.

It's no help matching casting numbers, but by appearance, you should be able to figger it out. Hope this helps |

Check this chart.
The side cover bolt pattern will help. https://lugnutz65chevystepside.weebl...ission-id.html |
