And with side pipe exhaust no less! Don't see that much at all anymore. Wonder if those are THRUSH pipes? They used to be really big on the street machines with side exhaust in the late 60s and early 70s. Little bit of a jacked up rear end, five spoke custom wheels. Old school, baby!

My Grandpa had a two tone blue and white 4 door '57 Fairlane he bought new when he traded in a 4 door '49 Ford Custom.

Re: Vintage vehicles driving around. See one post it up.

We went to town today for the first First Friday in Canon City. Seven cars showed up where we sometimes fill the whole block. One of the cars that did show up was a '50 Desoto with an LS motor.

Funny you say that. It was bought by his Grandpa when he was seven and he got it from his grandma.

Re: Vintage vehicles driving around. See one post it up.

Out running some errands this morning and stopped by my credit union to do a bit of business. Looked across the street and seen this Ol' Timer parked and just had to snap a pic with cell phone. The body was in nice shape, paint had some minor nics and blemishes. Looked like the seat still had original seat material on it but was showing some definite wear. The Kansas plate on the front was from 1929 and it was running a antique plate on the rear.

Spied a Montobanobile today as well as a nice Barracuda. It seems like a decade since I last saw a running Cordoba.

The Camaro was from last weekend.

Re: Vintage vehicles driving around. See one post it up.

Stopped by our credit union today to get a few things taken care of and this 'ol gal was parked at the auction house across the street. Same auction house as the '29 model A truck I posted few weeks ago. Thought when I seen this it was an early Dodge. Walked over to get a pic and seen it's a '47 De Soto Deluxe, a Dodge Bros. cousin. Can't remember the last time I seen a De Soto out and about. Rather uncommon in today's world I would think. Looked to be pretty original with a red vinyl interior, was not able to get pics inside because of the glare of the glass. Body seemed pretty solid.

My earliest remembrance of a Desoto was when I was a kid our neighbor had a forties Desoto coupe. Yellow, glass pack pipes and a wolf whistle. Haven't thought of that car in years.
