Oil Pressure Readings

85 with 350. Have the dual oil pressure sensors.

I swapped the motor/trans/body from a 2500 frame to a SWB 1500 frame. Oil pressure gauge worked prior. We fired up the motor after the swap and the gauge is all over the place. It jumps from 20 to 70 and back. It acts like a ground issue but not sure what could have changed there. Any ideas?

Wire damaged/smashed during engine xfer? Same for sender. Doesn't take much.
Same engine/sender/gauge/wiring harness combo?

All the same stuff. No damage to wires or senders

Re: Oil Pressure Readings

Is it physically possible for the oil pressure to jump and fluctuate by 50psi?

And I would make sure your ground to the engine to frame is hooked and make sure there all grounds are cleaned. test the ground to make sure
100% not less. Coat the connection bolts to metal water dissipater but still lets an electric flow throw. The two grounding straps if to corroded when moved unbolted re-bolted make less then 100% connection or connection that come goes as it pleases. It will drive you nut looking it.
Clean the wires or get a new wire. Test with a multimeter that you're getting 100% ground flow.

Re: Oil Pressure Readings

Oh make sure your gauge cluster ground is good at the side of the cab body near the kick panel and dash or the column to the cab. There is a few grounds there on one bolt.
