New GM Seats

Im planning on selling my 2013 Silverado 1500 crew cab before the end of the Summer. Its been quite a long time since I bought a new truck. Even thinking of getting rid of my wifes 2010 Yukon and getting her something a little newer.
Since the prices are crazy Ive been looking at 2021 Chevy and GMCs. Same basic truck that I have now. The '21s are my first choice since some have the DFM delete. A little harder to find but Ive seen a few.
My question is when the heck did GM start making those cheap seats in the trucks ? No cushion at all. Its like youre sitting on a wooden crate. A friend of mine just stopped at my house yesterday. He came up from SC for a memorial service and the rental company gave him a '23 suburban. Same hard stiff seats. Do all the packages use the same ones ?

I would not be buying anything built post CV-19. The quality is noticeably subpar as compared to the 2020 and older. The GM's are having alarming valve lifter issues, and a few of the comfort options were deleted due to the semiconductor shortage. This is also why the AFM engines were deleted in some trucks.(which is a great thing)..

What year did they start putting the crappy seats in ?
I know some the '21s were built without the DFM/AFM. Was it widespread or just a small amount of trucks ? My 2011 GMC had multiple issues from the AFM and the '13 got a new motor two years ago due to multiple oil pressure problems. I bought the '13 used down in MD at a GMC dealer. The salesman gave me a great price on the extended warranty which really saved my butt.
Did any of the 2020s have the delete or just the '21s ?

Lightbulb Re: New GM Seats

Not sure. My '17 Sierra and '19 Canyon have comfortable seats. I think the AFM/DFM delete was '21 only.
