paint for top
what kind of paint have you guys used on the hard top of these blazers?
looking for the cheap here,lol jamie

Not Trying To Hijack The Thread, But If Your Top Is Black, Is It A
Possibility It Was White Originally, I Have Read Some Came With Black Tops And Some White, Where The Black Ones Really Black, Is There Anyway To Look At Them And Tell, Mine Is Black And I Would Prefer White, It Would Go Better With My Color Scheme.

I believe the tops were all white gelcoat. The black ones are just painted. I have a black one that needs restoring and you can see white underneath the black were it is thining or chipped off.

If I were you I'd go to Walmart and pick up a gallon of high gloss white latex paint and a nice big brush. Bring'em home and poor it to it, hehe. You did say cheap. Just kiddin', I have no idea what to use, hehe.

Just called a boat repair place and they said any type of automotive paint would work. He said to paint it like you would anything else, rough up the surface,clean it, prime it, and paint it.

Talked to another boat guy this morning. He said basically the same thing. Lightly sand with 320, clean with acetone, prime with heavy epoxy primer, then shoot the paint.
