Re: Sideways Saturday
I filled two jerry cans to 10 gallons for both. Plus the seatback tank topped out at 7.9 gallons.
I calculated my mileage at 10.88 MPG. I'm using your old sender. It reads a bit low. Looked like I was down to 3/8ths of a tank, but had at least 13 gallons. When topped off, there's still a gap to FULL. With the Fuel Sender/Fuel Line connection properly secured, there's no more fumes in the cab. Vapors hiss out, when you crack the gas cap open. Still better than the dead reckoning I have to do on the Jimmy. BC the gas tank has 1/4'' steel skid plate armor with about 48 bolts holding it on since new, I haven't tried to drop the tank to install a new float/sender. I just figure on a 20 gallon tank at about 10 MPG, and try to remember to top off every 100 miles.
