3-speed & Dana to 350 turbo & 205
Got a 350 turbo & NP 205 located. Question-will this combo bolt up to my 72 Blazer crossmember and drive shafts that had the 3-speed -Dana combo? (out of a 1980 4X4 pickup.) Thanks in advance for any info.

do you still have the 3 speed and dana 20? that would help alot, unless someone that has that setup posts up. but shooting in the dark, I am going to assume the th350 is longer than the 3 speed, so you will probably have to relocate your crossmember back a few inches. if that is the case, then driveshaft work will need to be done also.
if not, then just disregard everything i said

Don't have the new setup yet-still have the old setup. Wanted to see what problems I would run into. By the way, I notice that you seem to have a lot of knowledge on transfer cases by reading your posts. My son (orangeuavol) and I are building him a 72 Blazer 4X4. (our 1st 4X4) So feel free to gives us all the advice you can on the subject. LOL

I know that if you used a TH350/205 from an older truck ('69 - '74 or so), the driveshafts would work. The 1980 NP205 will have a slip yoke rear output, so you will need to come up with a new rear shaft. As for the crossmember, on the older 350/205 trying to use the Dana 20 crossmember will make the 205 hit the floor pan as the one for a 205 has about an inch more drop. I am not sure if the t-case adapter is the same on the 1980 version though. If it does hit, you should be able to space the crossmember down away from the frame a little if necessary.

Have a shot at a TH400/NP205 combo, anyone know what years this combo came out in?

It is from a K30, that is for sure. I believe that combo started in '80, but I could be wrong.

That is correct, Adam has helped me out with his Tech knowledge about everything 4X4 related

I am not sure if the stock crossmember will work or not. The adapter might be too large, and you would have to drop it down with some spacers, but maybe someone else can chip in here.
