How would I acheive this sound

I am going to be running BlackJack headers with 2" pipe and was thinking of going just with 2 , 24" long bottles. Will this give me a deep rumble sound while cruising, and a nice roar when i punch it? Or do you guys have some other suggestions

Install your bottles backwards so the exhaust just blows through vs. the correct way where the exhaust gets baffled. You'll get a good rumble in cruise, and a good rattle when punching it. You might get a little momentary fiberglass cloud too, so don't stand in back !!!!!!!!!!!!

dont run them all the way back, run them before the rearend...... thats how my trucks done and it sounds pretty good.... atleast i think so!

Don't forget that H pipe, it will definately help both sound and performance.

Once again I would have to say go with 40 series flowmasters I just purchased a set and the sound is everything I heard and then some.

If you dont have the cash to get some flow masters, get some turbo tubes they dont have glass packing in them to blow out later on.... run them straight out the back with chrome tips of course.....& the sound is great.....low in nice around thirty five if you stretch it alittle it gets louder.... & if you hammer it WOW nuthin but WWWAAAAAAA,WWWAAAAAAA,WAAAAAAAAA....GONE!!!
& they are louder than the 40 flow masters!!!! IN M.O.!

Diggin69, I would have to agree there are a lot of mufflers that are out there that are louder, for god sakes if you want loud go with supper traps if there not loud enough out of the box you can add or remove the baffles. But if you are looking for the deep rumble sound that I enjoy save you pennies and get flowmasters, you will thank yourself in the end. Just what ever you do make sure to get mufflers that have a decent quality outside material and inside material otherwise you be putting new ones on next year when they rust through.

The turbo tubes are aluminized do not rust....mine have been on for 8yrs & still look like I put them on the other day.....
I do not want to make a debate out of it but just stating the fact you can get good sound, & qaulity with out taking a 2nd morgage out for a exaust system........& at $72.95-$89.95 for flow masters compared tosuoer traps at $125-$130 just for the tips then if you want tips caped theres another $72.95-$120 then for the disk you put on them to set tone $9.95-$24 then if you get the NEW GENERATION super trap $106.95-$199.95 by the time you get pipe bent then add flow masters or super traps you are looking at close to $400- $450 super traps $500- $600 if you have the money to get a exaust like that all I'm saying is you can get the same kind of sound without spending a arm, leg & a nutt..

I was thinking of the glasspack idea because Flowmasters and Dynomax mufflers are arounf $100 each up here and glass packs are only $35 each. I am not going for a show quality truck, but a nice proper sounding dual exhaust setup would be nice. I know with bottles,the shorter the bottle, the louder the snap, and the longer the bottle the deeper the rumble. So for now, I think I will just go with the bottles. But thanks guys for all the input and advice.

I must agree with Digger on the turbo mufflers. I have them on my truck with 2.5" pipe. They sound great. Deep but subtle at low rpm, and when you're on it they're loud as h3ll. You might consider 2.5" as well, it can't be that much more. My entire exhaust system cost $225 with a coupled crossover. It exits in front of the tires though. IMO glasspacks are somewhat obnoxious.
