Update: Ripped off on hub caps by board memeber
Okay guys, here's an update for a previous post I made a while back about being ripped off by a board member. If you all don't remember, I bought some GMC hubcaps from him for $60.00. I sent him a check on April the 10th. The caps he sent were the wrong ones. After many attempts to contact him and get the issue resolved, he finally responded and told me he'd refund the money as soon as he got his hub caps back. So, on good faith, I sent them back but have received no money! I e-mailed him a couple weeks ago and told him that if I didn't get my money back, or at least get a response back from him within two weeks, that I would reveal his name and screen name on the board. Well, it's been two weeks and I've heard nothing. SO, I would strongly suggest not doing and business (buying or selling) with Board member BRIAN WOLF..... I did a search for his screen name, but I couldn't find it. I believe it was CHEVY69C10. He lives in New Salem, ND. He hasn't posted in a while (go figure). If anyone here knows Brian, please tell him that what he did was very un-cool.
In his reply to my e-mail stating I wanted a refund, he responded: "I'm only 16.......I'm broke. What do you want me to do"? So apparently he spent the $60.00 before I even received them, otherwise he would have no problem giving me a refund. Anyway, just wanted you all to know what happened. He is either no longer a member of the board, or has a new screen name. If he did in fact change his screen name, then he is a little coward chicken $hit. Brian, if you are reading this, PAY YOUR DEBTS!!!!!!!

That's wrong, everything I've heard or seen about this board is good. I don't understand why a little punk like that would do such a thing. Well I hope someday you catch-up with him. In the mean time, thanks for the advice I surely won't be doing any business with him.

I think your message is a little strong. You agreed to pay $60 for his hubcaps and he sent them to you, so rip-off does not seem correct. As a general rule used stuff is "as is" with no refunds, or most stuff I buy is. You should have done your part and got a picture to make sure what you were buying, was what you wanted. Just my 2 cents.

I agree and disagree. If there was a understanding if they werent correct he would gine money back, then i could understand,or if they were misadvertised.he might have thought they were what you needed spent the money, and dont have it.If hes 16 theres not alot you can do,maybe contact him and be willing to take payments $60 is a chunk to some 16 year olds who arent working and getting a $10 a week allowance, maybe he has something else you want. What i do alot of times if wrong part,i ebay it,for price i paid including the shipping, almost everything sells eventually. But if he agreed to send cash back, pay some 17 year old to whoop hiss a$$

I disagree, if someone says that they will get a refund, you should get a refund expecially if they send the wrong item.
The little bugger probably spent it on bubble gum before he even sent the caps. I can't stand liars and theives!!! If he can't repay the debt, he should return the product you sent back.

First, I believe there was a pic exchanged. That's why the caps that showed up were easily distinguished from the wrong ones (if I remember the post correctly).
Second, yes he did agree to a refund so NOT coughing up the $$$ is going back on his word. Both little "mishaps" constitute dishonesty in my book. Third, I call BS on simply getting the WRONG caps back from the kid, and calling it good enough. The moron should send the right ones! If he can't simply do that then he's lying about something... My guess is he sold the real caps for more than $60 to someone else AFTER he already agreed to send them to you. It's easier dealing with someone who's standing on your porch with cash in their hand then staying honest and selling them to someone over the web you may never meet. So, being a young idiot (and lacking a smart excuse) he tried passing off the wrong caps to you, and he's already spent ALL the $$$ he's collected on his truck, his stereo, or some other debt. If he's sitting on the $$$ then he deserves to get his ass kicked.

Thank you "new69owner"!!!!!
Yes, I sent him a pic of the caps I was looking for and he said they were the same ones he was selling. So yes Tom, I did do my part ….. the problem is that he didn’t do his part. Therefore, my message wasn’t …..”a little strong”. So yes, ”ripped off” is the correct term. I had a few others in mind, but that was the nicest one!

At 16 he can"t legaly enter into any contract so you are out of luck in pressing any legal mater his way. However, as a kid he may not know he can get out of a bad situation on his own. So I suggest that you try to figure a way you can both be happy. You know he has no money, so check to see if he has anything else that you would take in compensation. Other truck parts, or whatever, all of us on the board have simular interest so I'm sure there is other like interest besides trucks here. I would not however give him more money, if the replacement item cost more, intell he sent the product. You have already established to him your trust worthyness in returning the caps with out money. Also a letter to the parents of ___________ also might get something accomplished. Most people will chose an honest way out if given the chance, and I think he just does not know a way out, good luck, Joker69

Yes, slammed67 probably had no recourse when he received the wrong item from this guy because he was 16. But, the guy agreed to send the money back if the hubcaps were returned. The hubcaps were returned and no money was send. This is MAIL FRAUD and not a contract. So, it should be inforcable by law. Not that is worth going through the trouble for $60

Well, it's only $60, so it's not that big of a deal. It's just the principal of the matter. I'd work with him on payments or a trade, but he won't even respond to my e-mails or posts, like this one. I also thought of writing a letter to "The parent's of Brian Wolf" and I still might. He needs to learn a little lesson about honesty!

Ok, well next time you might want to have the seller send you pics of what he is selling instead of you sending pics of what you want. If you had done this and he sent you something other than what was in the pic, then I would agree with you 100%. But from what you just said, that is not what happened. When you first posted this, you posted pics of what you wanted and what he sent you and the pics were so crappy that I could barely tell the two apart. I by no means am saying he is right. I am just saying that from what I have seen this could have started as an honest mistake, and by coming back so strong you could scare a 16 year old to the point where he does not know what to do, because he doesn't have the money to do anything. If he is intentionaly ripping people off it will come back to haunt him. Have a nice day,

What timing, I got this joke from a friend today. Thought it might cheer you up a bit, and hope that he gets his...
Brian the Dragon Slayer was an official in King Arthur's court. He had a long-standing obsession to nuzzle the beautiful Queen's voluptuous breasts, but he knew the penalty for this would be death. One day he revealed his secret desire to his colleague, Horatio the Physician, who was the King's chief doctor. Horatio the Physician claimed that he could arrange for Brian the Dragon Slayer to satisfy his desire, but it would cost him 1,000 gold coins to arrange it. Without pause, Brian the Dragon Slayer readily agreed to have Horatio the Physician arrange it and that he would gladly pay the 1,000 gold coins for the chance to satisfy his desires for the Queen. The next day, Horatio the Physician made a batch of itching powder and poured a little bit into the Queen's massive brassiere while she was taking a bath. Soon after she dressed, the itching commenced and grew intense. Upon being summoned to the Royal Chambers to address this incident, Horatio the Physician informed the King and Queen that only a special saliva, if applied for four hours, would cure this type of itch, and that tests had shown that only the saliva of Brian the Dragon Slayer had present the antidote to cure the itch. King Arthur quickly summoned Nick the Dragon Slayer. Horatio the Physician then slipped Nick the Dragon Slayer the antidote for the itching powder, which he quickly put it into his mouth, and for the next four hours, worked passionately on the Queen's voluptuous and magnificent breasts. The Queen's itching was eventually relieved, and Brian the Dragon Slayer left satisfied and as a hero. Upon returning to his chamber, Brian the Dragon Slayer found Horatio the Physician demanding his payment of 1,000 gold coins. With his obsession now satisfied, Nick the Dragon Slayer could have cared less, and knowing that Horatio the Physician could never report this matter to the King -shooed him away with no payment made. The next day, Horatio the Physician slipped a massive dose of the same itching powder into King Arthur's loincloth. King Arthur quickly summoned Brian the Dragon Slayer... MORAL OF THE STORY: Pay your bills ...

Good points, tom. Regardless of what happened, or who said what this kid still needs to learn how to deal with people. This kid should be trying to help fix this situation instead of hiding. This is a prime opportunity for him to learn some business sense (stuff I learned at 12).
If he doesn't learn now he'll always have this apathy instead of doing the right thing, or being concerned with having a good reputation. Call it a $60 lesson in how to treat people if you want.

There was nothing wrong with the pictures that you had posted. If he was not sure they were the same and could not tell by the pictures he should have said something up front about it. If he could not tell the difference between the two due to his inexperience with the parts he should have contacted you and or sent pictures to you to confirm that they were the right ones. To me what happened is he didnt care or pay attention to the pictures and just sent them off. Anyone who looked at those pictures only had to pay attention to the details to see they were different. Crappy pictures or not there was clearly enough detail to tell the difference between the two.
