Neutral saftey switch

How do I wire around it so it will start in any gear? It's a 78 model Chevy.

Thanks

I just looked at the truck again, and there is another plug on the right side that has two smaller wires coming from it they are green/blue,couldn't really see up there in the dark.Anyway, what are they for?

Ok this truck has two sets of wires running to a switch on the bottom of the column I assume this is the neutral saftey, right?
Two big wires, one purple, and one yellow, and two small wires, one green one brown.I placed a wire jumping the 2 big wires together, and one connecting the two smaller wires, and I still have to he-man the shifter to get it to turn over.
I also adjusted the linkage to the tranny, and same thing, will not start unless I pull up on the shifter, and I mean YANK! it towards park.

What am I missing here??

I will start with all the wiring undone from the switch, and no jumpers so apparently the switch isn't the one I need.

Try moving the switch slightly clockwise (looking from the rear) on the column.
