need some help with engine

Need a liitle help again and thanks putting rebuilt 350 into 69 c10 that started with 250. First problem the pulleys on the water pump don't lim\ne up wit the pulleys on the vibration dampener new water pump same as old one on the 350 any advice? how do I know if the dampener is on all the way?
Tightened to 85 ftlb. next will the linkage for the throttle forthe 250 which is just a striaght rod work on the 350. It has a performer intake with an edelbrock 1406 600 carb only things i see is that the rood is too short trying to figure this out thanks dave
