Justice brothers save the day again.
I decided to "fix" my stripped out fitting on my carb (where the inline filter goes and the gas line connects) with a little JB Weld. So far it looks like it's done the trick. I hope so cuz I sure didn't want to throw away a carb I just had rebuilt.
