eaton rear questions?

Howdy all-

Just aquired a 70 k20 suburban w/ an eaton rear end, look like around 4.56 gears. I need to do some brake work and will be installing larger tires and hopefully some sort of traction device in the future. A point that has been brought up was parts availability... is it worth it to dump any money into this or should I just source out a 14b and put it in?

I'm having a hard time finding much info on this diff. Are there any lockers still available for it? I thought I saw someone advertising used take-out occasionally but I can't find there post. Saw another detroit for sale, are there different splines/carriers for these things? Are they a lunchbox locker like the 14b detroits, or do they require gear setup?

I can't drive my new sub till I fix the brakes, I'd appreciate any feedback/advice. Thanks!
