bezel painting done!
well guys I dont know if you remember but a week or so ago I asked what paint I should use to paint the bezel. well I finaly got it done* mostly, got touch up to do* and have some mid prep and after shots. I used duplacolor engen paint *chevy red-orange* and duplacolor crome. and also used some plastic primer *although I noticed it dident help any*. as you will see I taped up every place I dident want it painted and kept black. then I sprayed the guage holes and the ac vent on the left and the whole right side in the primer. let it flash then top coat. the guages crome and the rest red. I did about 3-4 coats. then let it dry then I masked off the guage holes and painted the rest red *no primer*. I did have some problems with paint pulling up *mostly in the primer areas* and some over spray. but this is the first time Ive done anything like this so it looks ok for someone whos new lol. I also sprayed the ac vent on the right with crome and then I did a clear coat but I noticed that it turned it grey. so thats why it looks diferent. and yeah the radio area looks crapy because the only thing I had was the the drum sander for a dremmel but it got it done lol... btw thanks for hotrodmtodd for the bezel. my orignal bezel was trashed by some kids trying to get to my radio *post pic later*but top to bottom is some up close pics of the taping and finish product. the taping was a PAIN IN THE ARSE and took up most of the time. I got a whole new respect to car painters hope you like and mabe gave you some ideas. and questions is fine. matt
