lowering my truck

I want to lower my truck 3 in the front and 5 in the rear. Ive seen coil springs that can do this. Will the suspension on the front be ok if I put just the 3"drop springs in it or will it handle and drive like crap. I plan getting a full front end rebuild kit while Im at it. Help me out please on the best/cheapest way to lower my truck while also doing it right. I cant afford air bags or any of that. If you can, I would like to check out some websites with this stuff on it if you know of any. Thanks guys.
