Yeah that bearing cuased a whole mess of trouble. My engine crapped out whil I was on the highway. It broke one of the brass keepers on the top of one of the valves which jacked up the valve area and even broke off some of the metal on the head around the valve.

The block may still be good but I am not sure. I went ahead and bought a remanufatured 74 (I believe) 350 4 bolt main with flat top pistons. The old engin was a punched out stock 307.

As for the trans, I think this truck spent some time around the Red River area in Oklahoma be fore I got it. All the dirt I have been cleaning off the engine bay has been red.
