tilt column?

i have a column shift/ tilt steering column that was installed in my 2wd 1970 blazer. i think its a converted van column based only on the newer hazard light switch. it fit without any problem. my buddy has a 1965 c-10 with a factory 283/ 3 on the tree combo. my blazer was a 250/ 3 on the tree combo originally. we are thinking about an even trade, i want to make my blazer like original, and my buddy has an extra th350 lying around. are the steering/ tranny setups similiar enough to swap between a 1965 and a 1970 without any major "customizing"? i dont want to cut or weld, otherwise i have all the hardware and wires necessary. can anyone offer any suggestions? thanks
