For those that have done NV4500 swaps
I'm in the middle of doing mine in a 72 K20 with a NP205 and GM HT383 crate engine. The question I have is regarding the crossmember. Advance Adapters sent a 2.5" square piece of tubing that the bottom of the tranny bolts to and then has the right holes to bolt to the crossmember.
I guess my question is do I use the tubing, then bolt to the stock rubber mounts (I bought new polurethane ones). It does this fine, but I am wondering if this raises the tranny too much for the driveline and/or mounting the cab. Has anyone actually done this in a 67-72 GM truck? If so, what did you do?
