Hello from Birmingham, AL

New to the website and to GM Trucks.

I just inherited a 1977 GMC Sierra Classic 3/4 ton "camper special" from my stepfather. It's all original, except a neighbor blew the motor and he got a new one installed instead of having the original rebuilt. No longer a numbers matching but has about 98k original miles on the truck and 1800 on the new engine. (most of the miles was for the drive down from Moorhead, MN. Some quick info on it. My stepfather is/was the original owner. Bought it new in 1977 in Huntington, CA. He has the original window sticker and all the paperwork down to the brochure. It is a root beer metallic brown and creme color. Was repainted about 5 years ago and has never been outside in the winter. No rust at all.

My biggest decision is if I want to make minor changes since it's no longer a numbers matching truck or not.

I will post pictures ASAP, but I do not have internet access at my home and I'll need to get some digital pictures of it. I will post ASAP.

My first changes will probably doing duel exhaust. Leaning towards some JBA headers, new Magnaflow Catalytic converter with some Flowmaster Delta 50 SUV mufflers. My stepfather will be moving down soon and I want him to be able to still enjoy driving his beautiful truck.

(Lucky in Alabama)
