removing A arms

I'm swapping lower A arms from one truck to another. One set has a lower basket for the spring (gives a 2 inch lower ride.
I've got it all apart and last thing was to remove the bolt on the ball joint(?) Did so but it won't fall out. Did the customary pounding to no avail... is there a spreader tool of some sort to push the bolt/ball joint down and free the A arm?
