Has anyone ever tried this??

Since I wanted to keep the bench seat but still wanted more room I looked for options. When I took my seat out to installed seat belts I noticed how thick the back cushion was. With the back cushion out I had all sorts of room so I had a guy take the springs right out of the seat back. I put it back in today and it seems like I have quite a bit more leg room and there still is enough cushion in the back to be comfortable. Here are some pictures.
