Truck wont start.

Ok, so I took the truck to get smogged today, and on the way home I was driving on the freeway, when the gas pedal stopped working. I would press it down, but nothing would happen. So I pulled off the road, and stopped. I tried the gas again, nothing. So I turned the truck of, and checked it out. What I found was a hose that goes from the canister to the top of the front of the carb had a large hole burnt in it, fresh burn.

So I figured that must be the problem, so I kink the hose, try and start the truck, and it wont go. It will crank but not fire up. So I get it towed home, replace the hose, and the truck still, will not fire up. It cranks, gets gas, but will just not fire up. I even tried a little carb start spray, but got nothing. What do you guys think the problem is?
