Need spindle help
I bought a set of McGaughy's 2.5 inch drop spindles for 1.25 inch rotors. Got them from GMCPauls.com, which was awesome to work with by the way.
Anyways, the problem is that when we put the rotor on, the nut to hold it all together won't thread on enough to get the cotter pin through it. The only way to get it on far enough is to tighten it so tight that the rotor won't hardly spin anymore... Anyone ever experienced this before? Im tempted to just use a smaller nut that isn't as long, but it seems to me that something is actually wrong here, and that it shouldn't happen that way. The rotor seems to be going on all the way, cuz we didn't have any problems getting the calipers on, so I'm not sure. One thought is that the hole on the spindle shaft for the cotter pin is set farther back on the threads than the stock one was? I would go check that, but I'm at work right now and can't get to it till after, but it's been bugging me all day! Can anyone help? Similar experiences? Thanks! |
