Smile New chevy blazer owner

Stumbled onto this web site. Looks to be a good one with lots of information. I just became the owner of a 1979 blazer. Picked it up out of a friends yard for hauling fees. Will post pictures soon..

Being new to 4x4's I have a couple of questions. Truck has been lifted about 4" and the front drive shaft looks to be short, you can see about 1 1/2" to 2" of spine, is this O.K. ? If not do they make a spacer or will the drive shaft have to be lengthened?

The engine is a 1996 305cid vortec, it was modified with original carb with electric fuel pump. My question can a mechanical fuel pump be installed?

Thanks and bare with me as I learn how to post..
