Heater 1962
Today, I took the heater out of the truck. I am going to replace the motor and clean and powder coat the box. I am a little confused on how it works. I had the radiator checked and it is clean and tight. This is a unit that is all inside the cab.
I have one lever which a fan switch and I can see how that works. What I don't understand is that it appears that the heater has constant heat from the radiator and coil in the heater box. When you move the one lever it looks like it is either defrost or heat out the bottom and back side. My question is, does it provide heat 100% of the time and the only difference is whether it is heat or defrost and the fan is on or off. Are the defrost and heat lever the same so that I only have two levers one for fan and one for heat and defrost. Thanks. |
